WHAT IS VUJADAY MUSIC FESTIVAL?
Vujaday is a 5 day destination music festival that will take place in a variety of unique locations around the island of Barbados. Vujaday Music Festival invites you to explore lush landscapes, dance on flawless palm-covered beaches and soak in translucent azure waters under a golden island sun. Beyond a cultural exploration that will allow attendees to visit key regions of Barbados throughout their journey, the debut festival is curating a lineup focused on different styles of house and techno, roping in internationally renowned DJs and local favorites.

Events will take place over 5 days in various locations around the island ensuring each day offers attendees a unique festival experience. WHEN IS VUJADAY MUSIC FESTIVAL?
Vujaday Music Festival is taking place from April 4th to 8th, 2018. Event times will fluctuate based on the location and day. More information on event times and locations will be announced as we get closer to the festival dates and the secret event locations are unveiled to the public. You can expect events to run during the day and often right through the night as well.

No, unfortunately we are not accepting any volunteers for Vujaday Music Festival.
WHAT CURRENCY IS USED IN BARBADOS?
The currency used in Barbados is the Barbados Dollar (BBD). However, US Dollars are also accepted everywhere on the island. The Barbados Dollar is converted at the rate of $1.98 BDS to $1.00 U.S – it is fixed to the U.S Dollar and does not fluctuate. Its rate to other currencies fluctuates daily based on their fluctuations relative to the U.S. Dollar. Most stores and restaurants accept major credit cards and of course most Barbados hotels and other lodgings also accept these various forms of payment.
HOW DO I GET TO BARBADOS?
Flights to Barbados are frequent, so if you’re looking to book yourself, you will find many direct flights to Barbados from various major cities around the world as well as simple connecting flight options. There is more detailed information on flights to Barbados on our AIR TRAVEL page.
WHAT IF I BECOME ILL?

Barbados is also home to the highest standard of health care in the Eastern Caribbean and boasts quite a number of government and privately-run medical facilities throughout the island supported by highly qualified professionals. There are Doctors’ offices and pharmacies scattered all over the island and the main hospital on the island is Queen Elizabeth Hospital, located in Bridgetown.
IS THERE FIRST AID?
In the event of an emergency, there will be medical teams at each event to treat anybody who may feel ill. In the event of an emergency outside of festival grounds, Barbados emergency services numbers are listed below:

WILL I BE ABLE TO USE MY PHONE?
There is free Wi-Fi available at many places around the island including bars and restaurants and most hotels also offer this complimentary service. There is 3G cell phone coverage across most of the island and also 4G/LTE in Bridgetown and populated areas. Most cell phones work in Barbados, but you’ll have to pay roaming charges to your provider back home. The International dialing code for Barbados is +1 246.
If you’re a little tech savvy, you can also choose to purchase a prepaid SIM card in Barbados if your cell phone is network unlocked. Replace your SIM card with the Barbados one while on the island to avoid excessive roaming costs. You can choose from any three of the local network providers who all offer different prepaid packages:
DO I NEED A VISA TO VISIT BARBADOS?
Most countries do not require a visa to visit Barbados, including North American and Europan countries, but if you’re unsure, check to see if one is required for your country.
ALL visitors to Barbados must have a passport and valid return ticket to be allowed entry. Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay on the island.

- Evidence of personal support (means to provide for yourself during your trip).
A child under the age of eighteen (18) travelling without a parent/guardian must have a letter of authorization from parent/guardian.
IS BARBADOS SAFE?
Barbados is a safe country filled with friendly and warm locals who are eager to lend a helping hand. The island has one of the lowest rates of reported homicides in the Caribbean region. However, like anywhere in the world, you should take reasonable precautions to stay safe while on your trip.
- Don’t leave valuables in plain sight, in an unlocked car or room, or on the beach.
- Use your hotel safe if one is available.
- Lock doors and close windows when leaving your room or car.
- Avoid beaches and unlit areas at night and avoid trespassing on private property.
- Be respectful of the locals.
- Maintain the same level of awareness that you would at home.
- Make a note of the Barbados emergency numbers: Police 211; Fire 311; Ambulance 511.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO BARBADOS?
Here are some important things to remember to pack for your Barbados holiday:
- Drivers license (if you plan to rent a car)
- Cash, credit cards, debit cards
- Your Vujaday Music Festival ticket that you can use to pick up your wristband
- Flip flops, beach wear, cool cotton shirts, shorts, some smarter casual outfits
- Sunblock and sunglasses
- Camera, mobile phone, chargers and adapters if necessary (Standard plug types in Barbados are: Flat blade (2 flat blades) at 150V)
- Mosquito Repellant
NOTICE: It is illegal to wear camouflage of any kind in Barbados, so definitely leave that at home!
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO FESTIVAL EVENTS?
Don’t forget to wear your wristband! Wristbands will grant you access to Vujaday Music Festival events and you will not be allowed to enter unless wearing your own, valid wristband. Ensure to bring identification of some sort, whether your passport or driver’s license. And finally, make sure you bring some cash or a credit card so that you can purchase drinks and food at events. We recommend cash, as we cannot guarantee all vendors will accept card payments.
WHEN DO I GET MY WRISTBAND?
Once you purchase your ticket you will receive an order confirmation email from Eventbrite on behalf of Vujaday Music Festival. You will exchange your printed ticket or scan your mobile ticket in exchange for a General Admission or VIP wristband at any of the numerous wristband pick-up kiosks in Barbados. A list of the locations where you can pick up your wristband will be announced closer to the festival dates. These wristbands will grant you access to Vujaday Music Festival events. You will not be allowed to enter any festival events unless wearing your own, valid wristband. Festival wristbands must be worn at all times.
HOW WILL I GET AROUND THE ISLAND?
There are lots of way to get around the island.

You can also purchase a shuttle pass which allows unlimited use of Vujaday shuttle busses to and from event locations and partner hotels for all 5 days of the festival during hours of operation. While you are free to stay anywhere on the island that you choose, keep in mind that the festival shuttle buses only pickup and drop off at the locations mentioned. If you’re feeling adventurous and looking for an experience not to be forgotten, you can try out one of the local transit buses. They travel all over the island and are usually packed as full as possible. The fare is only BDS$2, the equivalent of US$1 (but you have to pay with BDS currency). WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
Tickets are non-returnable. Refunds will only be available if the Festival is cancelled or entirely rescheduled. The performers and advertised attractions are subject to change, and no refunds will be offered if any performances are cancelled.
ARE TICKETS TRANSFERABLE?
Tickets are transferable. In order to complete a transfer, you will need: 1) the original ticket-holder to email firstname.lastname@example.org approving the transfer using the email address used to make the original purchase 2) provide the last 4-digits of the credit card used to make the purchase 3) provide the full name and email of the new recipient of the tickets. Upon arrival in Barbados, the name on the printed ticket must match the identification being presented at the time of wristband pickup.
ARE THERE AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FESTIVAL?
The Festival is strictly an 18+ event. Anyone under the age of 18 who has purchased a ticket will be refused entry – no refund is applicable.
WHAT CHILDCARE OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN BARBADOS?
Barbados has ample child care services available to suit your needs. The Barbados Tourism website has a great page that lists reputable child care providers that offer nannies and babysitters for any type of residence as well as various daycares that parents can drop their kids to for the day. Many of our partner hotels also offer kids clubs and teen centres, as well as on-site babysitters. Even if they don’t advertise it, the front desk or concierge can definitely arrange an accredited babysitter for your needs. Contact the hotel you’ve booked with for more information on the child care services they offer.
